How do I restore my data?

If iCloud sync is enabled, signing in with the same Apple ID on a new device restores your pantry automatically once CloudKit finishes syncing. If sync is off, data stays on the original device only — enable sync before switching devices to carry your data over.

How does iCloud sync work?

When enabled in Settings, Pantry mirrors your data to your personal iCloud private database via Apple CloudKit. Syncing happens in the background across your own devices signed in to the same Apple ID. The developer cannot access this data.

Why can't a recipe be generated?

AI features require a configured AI provider and a valid API key. Generation can also fail if there's no network connection, the provider is temporarily unavailable, or the request involves ingredients unsuitable for cooking. Check your AI settings and try again, or try different ingredients.

How do I configure an AI provider?

Open Settings › AI Assistant, choose a provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Qwen, Kimi, or MiniMax) or a custom compatible service, then enter your own API key. Your key is stored securely in the Keychain and is never sent to the developer.
